After three months of taking XigDuo, about which my family doctor (internist) had not provided any information, I initially believed that my extremely increased (barely controllable and sudden) urinary incontinence was due to my age (almost 80 years). After thorough internet research (Oh, if only I had blindly trusted the competence of my GP instead of studying the package leaflet thoroughly), I am convinced that it can only be due to the dapagliflozin component, especially as the weight loss of around 3 kg that I have positively registered without any dietary restrictions is a further indication. I will return to a preparation with metformin as the sole active ingredient. I had no such problems with Siofor. Quote: Older patients aged 65 and over: Treatment should be well coordinated with your doctor and carefully monitored, e.g. by close monitoring. … There is nothing to add to this!
I’m thrilled with XIGDUO! My morning blood glucose levels used to range from 225-264, but after taking just one dose yesterday, it dropped to 136 this morning! That’s a decrease of almost 100 points in most instances. Metformin 1000, taken twice daily, had essentially become ineffective for me, so my primary care physician switched me to Xigduo 10/1000. The initial pill made me feel somewhat dizzy and gave me a headache, which I presume is due to my blood glucose levels stabilizing. I anticipate feeling this way for a few more days, but I’m prepared to endure it if it means continuing to see positive results.
