In 2019, a highly prominent uveal melanoma was diagnosed in her right eye. It was treated with Gamma Knife radiation and finally removed by surgery.
On October 2022, metastases were detected in the liver, lungs and bones…..
The first immunotherapy was carried out using OPDIVO (nivolumab) + YERVOY (ipilimumab). Metastases were regressing BUT: was not tolerated and had to be discontinued.
I have been receiving Tebentafusp (Kimmtrak) as an infusion since March 06, 2023. The first 3 infusions were stationary (1st infusion 20µg, 2nd infusion 30µg, 3rd infusion 68µg), since then an infusion (68µg) has been administered every week.
At the beginning there were minor side effects, such as skin rash.
Currently, I have recurring headaches, dry skin and shaking nausea (also ice-cold hands and feet).
In December 2023, I received the 41st dose of Tebentafusp. The metastases have not increased in size since then.
Disadvantage: I have had 5 fainting spells -> broke my nose, fractured the base of my skull…
Conclusion: I’m still happy -> I’M STILL ALIVE!!!
