I couldn’t tolerate statins, so I was given Nexlizet. I felt quite well at first. The first blood test showed elevated uric acid levels and high blood pressure. Cholesterol dropped from 249 to 178
decreased. But for almost four months
I’ve just been tired, have headaches and my whole body hurts a lot.
I will discuss this with my doctor and discontinue the medication. What a pity.
I have been taking Nexlizet (bempedoic acid / ezetimibe) and Leqvio for 5 months. I only have insignificant side effects. My cholesterol has dropped by 3/4 and I feel healthy again (after a very serious heart attack). For months before with statins only terrible side effects, Repatha did not work. I never thought I could feel this good again.
I’ve been taking Nexlizet for 6 weeks now. Initially, things were going smoothly, but around the fourth week, I began experiencing muscle and ligament pain in my lower back. A few days later, I also developed stomach pains and a touch of brain fog. I decided to get some blood work done, and the results were quite remarkable: my LDL levels dropped from 96 to 61. My doctor was genuinely pleased with this outcome. Throughout my life, my cholesterol numbers have generally been good, except for my LDL, which has never exceeded 95. However, a heart attack 16 years ago—with no discernible cause—set me on this seemingly endless path of cholesterol-lowering medications, all of which come with significant side effects. At 67 years old, I’m simply weary of it all and yearning for a chance at a more fulfilling life!
