Exforge works quite well, but you have to be able to tolerate it. Which is definitely not the case for me. It started after two days. My arms felt “wrong”. I don’t know how to describe it better, it wasn’t pain or numbness, but simply the sensation that something wasn’t OK. On the third day, I was actually feeling quite well again, until my ability to concentrate dropped sharply in the evening and my hands kept “falling asleep” – with constant tingling in my fingers. I didn’t think much of it then, just wiggled my arms a bit and that was that.

On the fourth day, however, the fun really started. After getting up at 9 a.m., I was completely disoriented and had to lie down again immediately. I only managed to heave myself out of bed at 12. The morning exercise went surprisingly well again, only for me to drift back to bed shortly after the exertion was over. When I was fit enough for breakfast again, I tried to use the computer. But that was doomed to failure – I couldn’t keep my left hand on the keyboard for long without it falling asleep again. So off to bed again…
Two hours later, I struggled to get up again and did some exercise, during which I felt halfway tolerable again. After that, however, there was a slight feeling of nausea and stomach ache, along with a loss of appetite (which my wife was then able to cure with her outstanding cooking skills). In the evening I was able to type on the computer again, but I could hardly concentrate on the text I wanted to write.

That was the pleasant part. The real shock was when I went to bed. My blood pressure shot up to unprecedented heights late in the evening, along with a racing heart. I went to bed hoping that sleep would cure the problem, but I couldn’t find a position in which my arm wouldn’t immediately fall asleep. The uncooperative arm and the palpitations, together with the worry about how long my circulation, 195 pulse and probably blood pressure would hold out without giving up with a heart attack, made this night a sleepless horror trip like I had never experienced before.

Really unpleasant. I’m no longer taking this medication, and to be honest, I won’t be taking any other for the foreseeable future. First I have to get over this trauma.
