I took the antibiotic for 2 weeks, during which time I felt confused and my heart was racing. After stopping it 2-3 days later I ended up in hospital because of syncope (fainting), I couldn’t breathe or was hyperventilating. I now have anxiety and panic attacks due to the antibiotic and I feel really bad. I hope this is just a short side effect of the antibiotic and I’m not damaged for the rest of my life.
Normally, antibiotics make me feel better very quickly after a few hours.
With this antibiotic, I got an unbearable headache in a very short time, which was only bearable with ibuprofen.
This was followed by chills like I have never experienced before.
The feeling of sickness is one of the worst I have ever had in my life.
I feel best just before taking it every 12 hours.
I will ask the doctor for a different medication on Monday.
I cannot recommend this medication. I took 100mg for breakfast and after just 20 minutes I had to vomit. After that I felt unwell all day, no appetite and nausea. I will not try it again. I’ve never had such nausea in my life.
Initially well tolerated without any side effects. After 6 days out of nowhere I developed severe muscle and joint pain, which I could only control with 800 IBU and tilidine. In addition, my temperature rose to 100,4. After exactly 2 days of absolute bed rest the severe muscle pain was gone. I am now taking the antibiotic for the week3 and keep having occasional muscle pain which goes away with 1 x 400 IBU.
Everything was tip-top until day 4.
On day 4 I suddenly had a severe headache and slight nausea.
On day 5 I had to vomit violently after taking it.
Let’s see how it goes tomorrow.
I took doxycycline for a skin infection. After a few days I saw a marked improvement. Had slight stomach discomfort but nothing serious. Would recommend it to others!
I am absolutely delighted with doxycycline! I took it to prevent malaria on a trip to South East Asia and I had no problems at all. No side effects, super easy to take – it made my vacation carefree. I also found it to be excellent value for money compared to other medications I’ve used in the past. Definitely a recommendation from me!
I’m getting more and more tired. At the weekend I even fell asleep during a conversation. Scaly skin on my face since day 7.
My experience with doxycycline was a bit of a double-edged sword. On the one hand, its effectiveness in treating my Lyme disease was undeniable.Within a week, I felt much better and the symptoms began to subside. However, I struggled with significant side effects. My skin became extremely sensitive to light, resulting in sunburn, and I suffered from severe nausea. Despite its effectiveness, I have to admit that the side effects make it difficult for me to give an unqualified recommendation. It is effective, but one should be careful.
Apart from nausea and a bit of head pressure/headache, I had nothing at all. After consulting my doctor, I took Pantoprazole and from day 3 I had no more nausea at all. I am someone who is very unsettled by bad reviews. People tend to write reviews like those who had no side effects
I had to take the medication against ureoplasma for 9 days, during the intake I had few problems and had about 2 days where I couldn’t sleep because of chest pain and breathing difficulties. I continued to take it for the last few days, my tongue was brownish and my throat was a bit inflamed. After the end of the therapy, nothing was wrong for two or three days. But then the symptoms came. First abdominal pain, later that was gone, then back pain, tired quickly in the evening but can’t sleep through the night, sweating at night, and currently I’m struggling with heartburn and stomach pressure. I hope it all subsides at some point. However, I have to say that I have already taken 3 antibiotics within 2 months with the antibiotic, as no one recognized the ureoplasma infection at first. Then finally at the urologist.
Doxycycline was a double-edged sword for me. On the positive side, it has improved my chronic bronchitis and I am grateful for the relief it has brought me. But the side effects were pretty tough for me. I struggled with persistent nausea and digestive issues that affected my overall quality of life during treatment. I’m unsure if I would use it again, even though it was effective. It’s a difficult decision.
This is the second medication my doctor has prescribed in an effort to control MRSA. The medicine is effective, but the side effects are quite severe. About 30 minutes after ingestion, it triggers migraine headaches, nausea, vomiting, and a general sense of disorientation and confusion. While I appreciate the positive outcomes, the side effects are difficult to bear.
