I was prescribed the product after my breast enlargement. Overall, I tolerated it ok. I have some abdominal pain, soft stools (several times a day) and flatulence. Also a nasty taste in my mouth. I always took it with a meal and drank a lot of water.

  2. Georgiania

The second time I took clindamycin (for the first time 13 years ago due to a breast abscess) for an abscess in my mouth, it immediately led to a bitter taste and gradually to a black tongue. This is a side effect that is not really pleasant, but the medication helps. And it works well. After all, it’s an antibiotic that shouldn’t be prescribed too often anyway. It passes again; the underlying disease is much worse and is prevented from manifesting and spreading further by clindamycin.

I have just had a root canal and have to take antibiotics for 9 days. It’s terrible, this bitter taste in my mouth, day and night is unbearable. I will ask for another antibiotic, otherwise high stool frequency.

I was prescribed clindamycin for the purpose of a tooth infection….after taking 2 tablets I immediately stopped taking this devil’s stuff…my pulse was consistently at 120….high aching limbs…. sweating so much that you have to change every 5 minutes….diarrhoea…the feeling that you have to vomit…I have had the worst night with this stuff….you have the feeling that you have the flu in your body twice that you are fighting….never again the stuff…

Absolutely not recommended. I was supposed to take it because of a tooth infection. Although my GP advised me not to take it, I had to take it because the inflammation had worsened and I was already running a fever. I started taking it with a very bad feeling and side effects appeared from the very first tablet. Dizziness, fog in my head, confusion, palpitations and heart palpitations, severe tiredness and extreme thirst. Also the usual indigestion. It didn’t help 100% either. About 3 weeks after taking it I got bloody diarrhoea, laboratory confirmed clostridia. I was given another antibiotic against it. If you can, take a different antibiotic

Already taken once for a protracted tonsillitis that turned into an abscess. Helped quickly and well in conjunction with drainage.
Now tonsillitis again. The taste is not great. But you shouldn’t suck it either. Otherwise no side effects.

I used clindamycin for bronchitis. That was four weeks ago. Now I’m in hospital. Nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, dizziness. Don’t take this stuff under any circumstances!

  8. Maggot

I was given clindamycin prophylactically after a wisdom tooth extraction.
Everything was fine at first, but after day 2 I woke up without warning with a measles-like rash all over my torso including my back, shoulders and thighs. (Thousands of pin-sized pinkish red spots on the skin)
Immediately went to the GP and switched to a different antibiotic.
The next day, despite stopping the antibiotic, the rash only got darker and started to itch really badly.
The rash is still no better 4 days after stopping the antibiotic and on the contrary is spreading even more over the body, despite taking Fenistil tablets.

I realise that not everyone will have an allergic reaction to this antibiotic, but I would advise caution and pay close attention to skin changes when taking it and if you notice anything, go to the doctor *immediately* and stop taking it if possible.

  9. Judith

I was given clindamycin 4 weeks ago and have had diarrhoea ever since.

  10. Suzanne

Allergic reaction after 6 days. Skin rash on upper body and inner thighs, extreme stomach pain with diarrhoea, extreme cramps, high blood pressure 178, but blood and stools unremarkable, 2 hospital stays with cortisone injections and allergy medication injections.
Still not fit. Stomach pressure, heartburn.

The doctor prescribed me this medicine because I was bitten by a cat. After taking 3 tablets of this medicine, I suffer from abdominal pain, severe diarrhoea and cramps. I have stopped taking it and will not use it under any circumstances. I am not a doctor, but I do not recommend it. I am sorry that these doctors prescribe a medicine to the patient without mentioning its side effects, which may be unbearable

I have a very bad toothache in my lower jaw because my molar tooth had a root canal treatment which was a complete failure. I can’t chew anything and have a constant throbbing and pulling in my jaw. I was then prescribed ibuprofen 600 and this antibiotic. I’ve been taking it for exactly two days and unfortunately I can’t see anything positive. The pain can be dulled somewhat with paracetamol. I have omitted ibuprofen as it is very irritating to the stomach. However, I will continue to take the antibiotic in the hope that it will still have an effect.

  13. Udo

Severe skin rash (also in the genital area) and itching all over the body

  14. Inflammation of subcutaneous fatty tissue

Had no significant side effects over the entire period of use, took it punctually every 7 hours. I paid attention to my diet (low fat, low sugar, probiotic, high fibre).

The only side effect I noticed was that my bowel movements were consistently softer (no diarrhoea) and sometimes had a very strong odour. Sometimes I was very knocked out/tired, but this could also be due to the change in diet.

The inflammation on my shin has almost completely disappeared (a small red patch is still visible and will be clarified by the doctor). Otherwise it has helped very well.

I would recommend the medication to others, but I would also strongly recommend sticking to the correct intake and diet or supporting it with a probiotic.

I was prescribed clindamycin 600 because of a sinus infection, as I have always tolerated it well so far and it has worked well. After taking the first tablet in the evening, I had a rapid pulse and palpitations in the morning. I then continued to take it and became more and more miserable throughout the day, but my nose got better. Then the next morning when I got up I had palpitations, a resting heart rate of 125 and my legs were like lead, I could hardly walk. I went to the doctor straight away, after hours my resting pulse rate improved a little, it was only 95, and that went on all day, including panic attacks. I stopped taking it. What a shame, I probably can’t take it any more.

Despite taking water with each dose of clindamycin I experienced terrible oesophageal pain, pressure and burning immediately after taking it on the 2nd day. It was as if something had got stuck in my sternum. I suspected the blue colour of the tablet? I also associate headaches and extreme tiredness with taking this medicine. However, the oesophageal pain is so bad that I will stop taking it.

I was due to have a tooth extracted and was given antibiotics as a preventative measure, unfortunately I am not allowed to take Amoxicilin and was told to take Clinda. Thank you very much, now after 4 ½ days I have a complete inflammation of the esophagus, my throat is full of pus, I can’t swallow any more. I can hardly concentrate and I also have a fever. The doc said to stop immediately. Instead of helping, it made everything worse. I strongly advise against it and also think that Clinda should NOT be prescribed any more. As I only hear and read bad things. Please do yourself a favor and refuse this “medication”.

    Hello
I was very skeptical because of the many negative reviews, but I had to take the antibiotic because my smear test was positive for streptococci.
I took the first tablet and was already waiting for the horror side effects. Nothing came at all. Well, I thought there might be some more on the second day, but there were no side effects. (Fortunately)

I am normally very sensitive to antibiotics and very rarely tolerate them.

After 8 days of taking it, my tonsillitis is completely gone and my stomach is doing very well. I have also been taking probiotics since day 3 of the antibiotics. I hope I can allay some people’s fears. Positive feedback is rarely written about good tolerance. (Just a little reminder)
