Due to a thrombosis, I had to take 10 months 10 mg of apixaban!
During this time I was very tired and without energy. I also had bone pain!
Diarrhoea, tired, fatigue, nausea, flatulence, bloated stomach, head noises at night
I got very heavy hair loss after 4 months of use.
For deep vein thrombosis 2x 5mg.
Cardiac arrhythmia has become tolerable, that’s it.
Bone and muscle pain, insomnia, depri, tired, listless, digestive system disturbed, unable to work. Blood vessels protrude violently. Thrombosis is still there.
Weight has never been an issue for me, I have always tried to put on a few pounds, which was difficult. Had to take eliquis 2x 5mg for the last four months because of an operation. Gained a pound a month, only figured it out at the end and didn’t associate it with that at first.
I really hope that it will go back after stopping.
Prescribed due to thrombosis. The first 2 days I had slight abdominal pain and rumbling in my stomach. After 1 week I get dizzy from time to time. But it is still manageable.
However, the thrombosis has now been resolved, so the benefit was greater than the side effects.
As the thrombosis was caused by a specific situation, I can fortunately stop taking it soon, as the side effects would be too annoying for me to take permanently.
Hello, I am 48 years old and have coronary heart disease with 50% stenosis without stents. I was recently diagnosed with atrial fibrillation and was prescribed apixaban as therapy. From the time I started taking it, I experienced the following symptoms.
– Nausea
– Chest pain with tightness
– Appetite present but still unable to eat
– Weight loss (approx. 11 pounds in one week)
– Tiredness with exhaustion
I have been taking Marcumar for 15 years for thrombosis prophylaxis. I always managed quite well with it, hardly any side effects. On my doctor’s initiative, we then switched to apixaban (more modern medication, fewer side effects). The effect of apixaban was also good. Unfortunately, after 4 weeks we experienced a visual aura for the first time, followed by a migraine. The aura returned at regular intervals and then levelled off every 1-2 weeks. The visual aura is not yet a known side effect of apixaban. We did the test with the medication for almost a year, then I couldn’t take it any longer. I went back on Marcumar. I haven’t had a single aura since then, just like before I started taking apixaban. In other words: apixaban triggered the visual aura with migraine for me. I never had anything like this before or after taking apixaban.
Male, 62 years old. I have been taking Eliquis (2 x 2.5 mg daily) for 5 years because of a factor V disorder, as a result of which I have had two deep vein thromboses. I have not noticed any side effects.
