First time for dental inflammation and maxillary sinusitis I was given 1000 mg 3× daily, toothache gone after 2 days, not much good for the maxillary sinus.
Tiredness, dry skin, dandruff, diarrhea and abdominal pain, general weakness.
Kidney and liver values in blood low.
Again for tooth infection got 2× 1000 mg. Currently feeling tired and weak, abdominal pain.
Would advise against this antibiotic. It helped me after the wisdom tooth operation, no more inflammation, everything was fine. But from the 3rd day I had a constant runny nose – as if I had allergies but I’m not allergic. I also got very severe vaginal fungus as well as oral thrush and intestinal fungus, despite probiotics. Hands off!!!!
So from the first day I got chills, aching limbs and a bit of a headache. The headache got worse from day to day. I also had diarrhoea from day 3. I stopped taking it from the 4th day onwards.
I took the antibiotic twice a day for 1 week. I already had to take the same thing 2 months ago (wisdom tooth operation) and I tolerated it well.
Now, I have decided to take the same one (doctor has of course approved it), but this time there were side effects from day 1. I have to say that it may also have something to do with the fact that my immune system has not yet recovered since the last treatment. As soon as I started taking it, I started to have diarrhoea, sometimes more and sometimes less severe, which lasted until the end. After a few days I developed severe dry mouth and a bad taste in my mouth. Since today (yesterday was the last day I took it) I have hives on my hands, arms and especially around my eyes, which is extremely annoying. I hope these symptoms subside quickly.
I was given this antibiotic after my wisdom tooth operation, but had great difficulty swallowing the tablets (even in divided form) as they are very large. I was also very tired and felt dizzy in the evenings and mornings. This medication also gave me a fungal infection of the mucous membranes.
On the morning I was supposed to take the antibiotic for the very first time in preparation for my dental operation. The recommendation was in the morning and in the evening three days before the operation. During the course of the day, however, I felt so much pain in my upper right arm that I could hardly lift it. At first, I thought. I made a mistake and took the second tablet in the evening. At night I could neither sleep nor turn over, nor could I lift my arm with my own strength! I stopped taking the antibiotics immediately!
Initially I was given a different antibiotic
Red flush after tick bite. After sudden unbearable nausea and sweating attacks, the antibiotic was changed to amoxicillin.
After the second tablet, now 5 days of headaches, intermittent chills, absolute exhaustion – I could sleep all day and am unable to work. Anxiety attacks. Occasional kidney pain and nausea. GP says hold out for another 5 days.
After I stopped taking it, I got tongue burning (red tongue with small blisters). After 2 days since stopping, this is unfortunately still present.
Had pain in the thyroid area and back pain. I was then told to take Amoxicillin 3 times a day. I was prescribed 20 tablets. I took the first tablet on Thursday evening. Three more followed on Friday. On Saturday I took three tablets. My condition got worse and worse. The back pain became more extreme. I had a severe headache on Fridays. Suddenly I had extreme jaw pain and toothache. I also had extreme earache (on one side). I became increasingly short of breath. I also developed a dry cough. On Saturday evening I got more breathlessness, extreme back, tooth and ear pain. I was taken to hospital because of a suspected heart attack. I had extreme anxiety. They did an ECG and checked my blood values. It turned out that the oxygen levels in my blood were poor (I don’t smoke). My blood pressure was very low. Nothing else was found. Even the ultrasound of the organs was excellent. I then took another 3 tablets on Sunday and each time afterwards I was more and more tired and had difficulty breathing.
Then on Monday I took another three tablets. In the evening I had a real panic, my whole body was shaking and I had extreme chills. This lasted for about 4 hours. After that I was able to fall asleep.I felt a little better the next morning. After the next tablet of amoxicillin, after about 45 minutes I experienced extreme palpitations followed by shortness of breath. The palpitations went away after about 30 minutes. The breathlessness and the dry cough as well as the cold sensation, chills and the feeling that my face was burning up remained. Now I have to take the next tablet.I won’t do it again and hope that I’ll soon feel better without it.
After all the horror stories I’ve read, I can only report positive experiences.
I had no side effects whatsoever, at the end of the 2nd day after starting to take it I noticed an improvement in my symptoms, after each further tablet things only went uphill.
A clear recommendation from me!
I have been taking the medication since day 4 and it has already improved a lot, so I have less runny nose. Of course I feel tired because my body is working. I have noticed that my face looks more puffy.
Side effects: cardinal problems, high resting pulse rate 80/90, cardiac arrhythmia, sleep disorders, muscle twitching, extreme headaches, diarrhoea, itchy, reddened areas of skin on the body
Had recurring tonsillitis. It later turned out to be the Eppstein-Barr virus.
Amoxicillin gave me hives all over my body (itchy, wandering wheals) and I had to stop taking it immediately. Diarrhea occurred after stopping.
Many people are allergic to penicillin.
I was given this medication for a urinary tract infection (UTI) to be taken over a period of 7 days. I didn’t experience any side effects while on the medication. However, about a week after completing the course, I began to experience itching in my vaginal area accompanied by a brown discharge. A few days later, I started to urinate frequently (a condition that persists even after 3 months) and noticed that my stool was very dark. It took about 2 weeks for my stool color to return to normal. It seems that Amoxicillin might have eliminated all the beneficial bacteria in my system, leaving me feeling dried out. As for the UTI, it’s still present even after trying other antibiotics.
